Can a moderate consumption of alcohol and drug me?

People who decide to moderate the use of substances, but then continue to use substances at a rate that is hurting themselves or others, have actually decided to behave in a way that is based on their old values. If this is the model chosen, it is obvious that you want to continue to live a life of instant gratification. It’s okay. But you must be prepared to live with sometimes serious consequences of this plan. There is a law of diminishing returns to work and the price paid for the euphoria induced by a substance can become too large.
